In part one of our two-part series, we looked at a handful of reasons as to why you should exit or sell your timeshare. Continuing on with part two, here are a few more reasons as to why you should sell your timeshare.

Availability is Limited

By nature of it being a timeshare, you have a specific and rather limited window of time each year in which you can use your timeshare. While this may be a manageable obstacle when you first make the purchase, as the years go on, only being able to use your timeshare during that specific amount of time can become an inconvenience. While you may love the property, location, and all of the things surrounding it, your allotted period of use for your timeshare may not always be ideal. What if you want to use it during a different part of the year? Attempting to do so can be challenging, and selling your timeshare is a good way to remedy this.

Avoid the Obligation

Chances are you purchased your timeshare out of desire and love of traveling. While buying a timeshare may have seemed to be a good idea when you initially made the purchase, as the years have gone by, you may have started to realize a variety of the lesser points that come with owning a timeshare. Among them is the fact that you are obligated to use it. Because of the fact that you are paying a considerable amount of money per year to use this timeshare, when it comes time for you to use it, you no doubt feel a sense of obligation to do so. You don’t want your money to go to waste, and by owning a timeshare, you unknowingly put pressure on your future self to use the timeshare, whether you want to or not.

Don’t Be Confined to One Locale

Another reason to sell your timeshare has to do with the flexibility of travel. As we stated earlier, owning a timeshare unknowingly puts a certain amount of pressure and obligation on you to use it. Because of this, when the time comes for you to plan a vacation, chances are, you will end up vacationing at your timeshare, as you are paying for it and don’t want it to go to waste. What this means, among other things, is that if you want to visit a different locale, you will essentially allow your timeshare usage to go to waste. Travel is a beautiful thing, and one of the best parts about it is being able to visit different locations and experience different things. Having a timeshare could put pressure on you to only visit that location, confining you to just one particular city.

Lack Of Use

At the end of the day, anything that you own for a considerable amount of time eventually loses its charm. With this in mind, chances are after a few years of ownership, the fun and excitement of your timeshare property may no longer have the level of appeal that it once had. This can result in a lack of use, but just because you’re no longer visiting your timeshare, you’re still obligated to pay for your share of it. You may have made the purchase thinking that you would use it more than you do, or that your availability would lend itself to being able to do so. Whatever the case may be, if your timeshare isn’t receiving the amount of use that it should be, it’s best to get rid of it and put it in the hands of someone else who will appreciate it and put it to good use.
